Playful, adventurous, and curious, Cat believes in the transformative power of human connection and the rich therapeutic opportunities found in being together outdoors and is passionate about facilitating these life-affirming experiences for vulnerable youth. As the Mental Health Clinician in the Delta program, Cat supports youth in achieving their goals through one-on-one psychotherapy, therapeutically focused group activities, and family collaboration.

Cat’s journey to this work began with her time as a summer camp counsellor as a teen. Cat earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and spent two years working in the wilderness therapy component of a youth residential treatment program in Ontario, where she forged her ability to create relational safety and facilitate group processes in highly dynamic environments. Cat then returned to school to deepen her ability to support vulnerable young people, completing a clinically focused Master of Social Work with a specialization in children and their families at the University of Toronto. During her time in university, Cat supported youth in hospital and high school settings, but she missed being outside! Cat moved to BC in 2023 to be part of Take a Hike.

Outside of work, Cat enjoys hiking, curling up on the couch with a good book, riding her motorcycle, or learning a new craft- currently crochet. If Cat could be anywhere this very second, she would be hiking up a mountain somewhere, having a snack with a gorgeous view. Ask Cat about bats (yes, the flying mammal!), how to cross-stitch, and mid-2000s emo punk rock.
