Adventurous, detailed, laid-back, Wil has a passion for the equity, diversity, and inclusion of outdoor spaces. As the IT Specialist, Wil ensures Take a Hike’s basecamp and program staff have the appropriate technology means to communicate and operate by aiding in overall systems, technical processes, and aids in any IT issues staff encounter.
Wil started working in IT five years ago initially working in repairing and servicing broken computers. He then quickly moved away from hardware to focus on the administration and software aspects of Information Technology. Wil has the patience for the differing levels of understanding that people have for technology, can explain complex topics in easy-to-understand terms and has a collaborative mindset to identify and improve existing processes and how to use technology to get the most out of them. He has mostly worked in the non-profit sector with the bulk of his experience in the developmental disability spaces and finally found his way to Take a Hike.
Outside of work, Wil is an avid mountain biker during warmer months and in the colder months he loves to ski and go backcountry touring. If the weather isn’t great, Wil enjoys playing online games with his friends back home in Florida. Wil dream’s to be in a place with waves and a surfboard. Ask Will about anything technology, his various computer projects in his garage and mountain bike maintenance.
